ITA-HUMANITIES AND POSITIVISM AS THE FORMATION OF MILITARY INSTITUTIONS

The relationship between positivism and the Armed Forces is already established? Throughout this master’s dissertation, the investigation delves into how positivism influences the formation of the Armed Forces. Consulting specialized bibliography, the historical formation of the Armed Forces and its relationship with positivism is investigated, along with its continuity in the Superior War School and in Castilhismo politics, contextualizing the first positivist cycle from the late 19th to the early 20th century, understanding central concepts of military positivism such as the "uniformed citizen" and the "transition dictatorship." In order to comprehend how neopositivism forms within the national territory through the Armed Forces and the military industry, constituting an educational, political, and philosophical project formalized in the ITA - Humanidades magazine, an analysis of the periodical will be conducted to understand how positivist ideas are assimilated and interpreted by military rationality in the second half of the 20th century. Thus, allowing to assert a continuity of these ideas in a contemporary way within the Armed Forces with the analysis of the document Projeto de nação - cenário prospectivos Brasil 2035 and concluding with the defense of the existence of the concept of military neopositivism as an interpretative key of the history of philosophy in Brazil.
