SUMMARY:

The doctoral research proposal explains the constructive model and landmark of contemporary architecture carried out in Brasília/DF, by one of the most active national contractors, Construtora Rabello S.A., historically correlated with research sources based on reports from the time of construction, evidencing the cut from 1960 to 1970, of which the reports showed that the architecture of the heavy prefabricated in reinforced concrete, unlike the light used today, was implemented by the circumstance and knowledge of the technical staff involved, who were able to undertake an aesthetic architecture -structural in each built unit. The objective of this work is to understand and analyze the processes that led the Rabello construction company to the height and decline of its performance, demonstrating from the built technical object and filling the gaps regarding the construction process and regarding the technical performers (architects, engineers and contractors) active in this period involving the use of heavy prefabricated. In order to do so, we tried to elaborate a narrative starting from the general historical context of the process from the emergence of the use of reinforced concrete to the implementation of heavy prefabrication of aesthetic-structural parts used in the large constructions carried out, involving the pioneers of construction who traced a new meaning for contemporary architecture, these expressions of concrete architecture will be presented in this study, based on the historical survey of institutional and residential works carried out in the period from 1960 to 1970. The idea is to demonstrate the appropriation of the constructive system adopted for the execution of several works in Brasília, which accelerated the growth of the city in a short space of time, revealing something surprising, where the sources and the projects originally executed could serve as a reference for future studies and works, or even to highlight the protagonists of the height of the applicability of the pre -heavy fabrication, rescuing the perspective of and performance for professionals in the area today, who could mirror and see the Brazilian architecture and engineering of this period marked by experience in elaboration, productivity in development and commitment to the execution primacy by the great professionals of engineering and architecture who worked in this scenario.
