SUMMARY:

The constant threat faced by native peoples in Brazil brings to light an urgent need to preserve their cultures and knowledge as a means of protecting these peoples. Among so many ancestral knowledge and technologies present in Brazilian indigenous culture, architecture is one of the cultural assets that best summarizes the presence of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The registration and documents, not only of the buildings but also of the sabers and constructive technologies, are necessary for the mission to safeguard this heritage. The use of current technologies and tools can be of great value in the process of recording, documenting, and preserving Brazilian indigenous heritage. In this sense, this article seeks to explore the use of HBIM (Heritage Building Information Modeling) as an auxiliary tool in the documentation, recording, and dissemination of the projected material and immaterial heritage of the indigenous peoples of Brazil through the modeling and parameterization of buildings from three different Brazilian indigenous nations. As a final result, the research found the possibility of inserting semantic (non-geometric) data into the HBIM model to record and document intangible cultural assets present in Brazilian indigenous architecture
