SUMMARY:

The path to establishing specific conservation parameters that help direct intervention decisions to maintain the heritage value of a work must involve assessing the cultural significance of the property and its conditions of authenticity and integrity. If the integrity of the work is lost, consequently, there is a great risk of loss of significance and authenticity, as there is no sufficient and complete physical reminiscence to materially express its value as heritage. The occurrence of pathological manifestations on the exposed concrete structure and the intervention actions carried out on the structure can affect the visual perception of the heritage through the occurrence of visual fragmentations on the surface. Such visual fragmentations cause the exposed concrete facade to be perceived with an incomplete level of visual perception of its constituent elements, losing its integrity, and contributing to the building presenting value losses in relation to the original reading of the work proposed by the author from the project. The present doctoral thesis qualification work aims to propose a method for evaluating the Level of Incompleteness of the Facade, considering the concept of integrity, with application to works of modern heritage in exposed concrete, as a tool that can assist in assessment of conservation status and conservation decision-making. Based on the proposed method, it is proposed to apply it to a facade of the modern heritage of the city of Brasília-DF to validate the method and make necessary adjustments and subsequent analysis of the results found in this application. The schedule of activities to be carried out to develop the proposed work is also presented.
