SUMMARY:
This project's object of study is the representations and discourses about some cases of feminicide with great national repercussion, in the period that extends from 1970 to 2010. The study will have as empirical support newspaper articles, documentaries and television series that narrated about the cases of femicides against Ângela Diniz (1976), Mônica Granuzzo (1985), Daniella Perez (1992), Eloá Pimentel (2008) and Eliza Samúdio (2010). The theoretical framework is based on studies of representations and discourses by Stuart Hall and Michel Foucault, feminist theories, intersectional gender studies and masculinity studies, from an interdisciplinary perspective. The reading and analysis of the sources will be inspired by Foucauldian discourse analysis, with the aim of historicizing the discursive formations about feminicides and feminicides, based on statements present in newspapers, documentaries and television series. To this end, we propose to investigate the historical conditions of production of these discourses, paying attention to the ways of constructing the feminicide subject and the women murdered by them, as well as the meanings, meanings, values, beliefs, interest, conceptions, norms, practices and relationships of power that inform the discursive representations of these murders in the Brazilian media.
