SUMMARY:

The present work analyzed whether or how university libraries help innovation-oriented bodies and units in their institutions in disseminating the importance of intellectual property and technological research among the university community. To this end, a bibliographic review and documentary research were carried out. The bibliographic review used the literature to better understand the concepts to be studied and whether there were already publications on the proposed topic. The documentary research consisted of investigating whether and how university libraries disseminate concepts aimed at technological research and intellectual property. It was found that although the university library's mission is to provide support to the university's research, teaching and extension activities and its role is to disseminate information, it still needs to advance when it comes to technological research and intellectual property, especially among undergraduate students. From there, it was decided to propose material for the dissemination of introductory concepts to intellectual property and technological research for university libraries. To this end, literature was once again used, especially literature focused on intellectual property and technological research. The next step is to prepare a manual designed from the perspective of a university library to be made available to the university community, dealing with intellectual property and technological research.
