SUMMARY:

In general, the aim of this work is to investigate certain questions about finiteness in
groups and Lie algebras. More precisely, we will study the Burnside Problem, bounds for the
commutator lenght of a group and finiteness conditions for the derived subalgebra of a Lie algebra.
