SUMMARY:

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is used in numerous applications such as photovoltaic devices, gas and humidity sensors, and catalysts. The functional properties of TiO2 can be improved by adding a small amount of dopant. This doping changes fundamental characteristics, such as: structural phase, bandgap, size of TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs), among other physical properties. Thus, with the aim of investigating the impact of the type and concentration of the dopant on the structural, optical and magnetic properties of this material, TiO2 nanoparticles doped with different concentrations of Europium and Calcium ions will be synthesized by the chemical coprecipitation method and characterized using techniques such as X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Ultraviolet-Visible Absorption (UV-Vis), Fourier Transform Infrared Absorption (FTIR), Raman Spectroscopy, Magnetization measurements, scanning microscopy (SEM).
