SUMMARY:

The thesis consists in a theoretical study that aims to criticize the effects of the war on drugs in the drug users’ health care. It begins with an analysis of the discourses and practices of the institutions responsible for controlling and repressing drug trafficking and use. Subsequently, it intends to demonstrate that hegemonic health care policies and practices are intertwined with this war that is led by legal and police institutions. And finally, it is also intended to demonstrate that health practices materialize a specific modality of war. The literature to be used in this effort is interdisciplinary, and psychoanalysis will be the theoretical framework to base and guide the proposed critical analyses.
