SUMMARY:

This thesis aims to embark on a journey of understanding and exploration of the feminine experienced in the ways-of-being-woman, through an onto-phenomenological approach. It seeks to unveil the complexity and richness of the female experience by investigating how women are portrayed in scientific literature, problematizing the different modes of being woman, and exploring the phenomenological aspects of femininity. Additionally, the thesis addresses the relevance of these studies to psychological practice by presenting connections between Heidegger's ontology and Gestalt therapy. The study is composed of four separate studies, each exploring different aspects of the subject matter. The first study, titled "(Re)producing discourses that mark women's roles in scientific literature," investigates how women are portrayed in scientific literature, particularly in religious contexts. Using a lexographic analysis, the article indicates that although women are the object of research, their linguistic importance is often overlooked, while a discursive narrative genre related to the sacred and women prevails. The second article in the thesis aims to conduct an analysis of the ontology of femininity in light of Heidegger's phenomenological method, with the objective of conducting a theoretical study on the possibility of an existential analysis of the ways of being-woman. In the third study, the thesis adopts a phenomenological approach to understand the experiential aspects of femininity in the ways-of-being-woman. Through field research using the body mapping methodology, the study seeks to access the lived experiences of women and understand femininity based on these experiences. The fourth and final study in the thesis reflects on the following question: How can an understanding of the ways-of-being-woman contribute to psychological practice? In this regard, the thesis hypothesizes that an experience based solely on ontic character can lead to illness, emphasizing the importance of revisiting the ontological sphere of being to reclaim an authentic experience. Furthermore, possible connections between Heidegger's ontology and Gestalt therapy are explored, aiming to develop a psychological practice that promotes the holistic restoration of being-woman. This thesis offers an onto-phenomenological description of the feminine experienced in the ways-of-being-woman, encompassing analyses of scientific literature, existential reflections, phenomenological studies, and considerations on psychological practice. By addressing the importance of ontological revision of being-woman, the thesis seeks to foster a more authentic understanding of femininity in contemporary society.
