PSYCHOSOCIAL CARE NETWORK OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SÃO LUÍS: PSYCHOSOCIAL REPERCUSSIONS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
Mental Health, Pandemic, Covid-19, Health Personnel
Declared as an international public health problem by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic caused a constant state of alert among the population, which still had doubts about the forms of contagion and was terrified by the rapid contamination, distribution of cases and high death rate. Mental health care was guided by the WHO, as well as the need to prepare, structure and strengthen health services to meet the demands of psychological suffering resulting from the losses and adaptation process caused by the pandemic. Despite WHO guidelines, psychosocial care provided in health services was considered throughout the pandemic and occurred in a very heterogeneous manner across the country. In this study, it is assumed that the mental
health issues associated with and/or arising from the Covid-19 pandemic may not have been properly received by health professionals. Therefore, we intend to carry out a study with a qualitative approach, of a cross-sectional type and of an exploratory-descriptive nature, with psychosocial care health professionals, in different scenarios of the Psychosocial Care Network (PCN), which were in operation in the first two years of the pandemic by Covid-19 (2020 and 2021). The objective is to analyze the health demands, needs and offers in PCN in the city of São Luís-MA throughout and after the Covid-19 pandemic, from the perspective of health personnel. For data collection, the interview technique and a semi-structured interview script will be used, in addition to a structured questionnaire to characterize the sociodemographic profile of the interviewees. The data will be analyzed according to the Thematic Analysis method, proposed by Braun and Clark (2006). The research will be carried out after approval by the UnB Research Ethics Committee in Human and Social Sciences and will follow Resolution CNS – MS 466/12 and its supplements. Knowing the mental health demand identified by health personnel and analyzing the mental health care devices available and/or that have been developed can contribute to the maintenance and development of effective strategies to mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and future events.
