SUMMARY:

The use of Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICs) gained visibility after the drafting of a normative document by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2002. Currently, 29 PICs are listed on the Ministry of Health's website, including Bioenergetics and Meditation, focuses of this work. University mental illness is the scenario from which the proposal for a program focused on the self-care and mental health of students emerges, which, today, in addition to being a collective desire, is a necessity. Studies point to an increase in the suicide rate at the University of Brasília and in Brazil in recent years and the need for preventive actions involving young people, teachers, universities and the community. The researcher built an "Integrative Self-Care Journey" focusing on body practices, meditative practices and conversation circles, which was carried out with undergraduate students from the University of Brasília (UnB). 11 meetings of two hours each were held, once a week, at the UnB Center for Psychological Care and Studies (CAEP) in the first half of 2023. The research aimed to understand the scope of the Journey in promoting health and well-being in lives of the university students who participated. The work was based on qualitative research and body mapping was one of the methodological tools. As a data collection methodology, questionnaires were used at the beginning and end, a weekly logbook and a focus group at the end. All meetings were recorded and transcribed. The data analysis methodology will be carried out in light of Lefévre's Discourse of the Collective Subject. The results obtained so far, based on the final questionnaires, about influences and transformations in the lives of university students, after participating in the Journey, were: more confidence in dealing with challenging situations and social interactions, increased self-knowledge, feeling of belonging, easier to recognize emotions and be able to transform them, care for the body, self-love, importance of pause and rest, looking at yourself with more affection and respecting the processes. The idea is that practices like these are disseminated in Universities as possibilities for promoting university health and improving the quality of life and well-being of student
