SUMMARY:

The present research aims to investigate the genesis of poetics in the modern novel through critically analysing the story Grande Sertão: Veredas by João Guimarães Rosa. This is phenomenological research with a qualitative-documentary approach, whose object investigates formal language - from stylistics to the configuration of poetic writingthrough the use that the author makes of metaphor at varying levels in the allegorical proposition when it is proposed to the conformation of the resumption, both in terms of socio-historical and contemporary propositions, as in the intergeneric dialectic of authors and classic works. Rosa’s novelistic form reverberates the stylistics of the epos as an epic narrative with a polymorphic conformation: folk tales, myths, legends, fables, poems, popular quatrains, and those of famous authors – Dante, Cervantes, Goethe, Kafka, García Márquez and Borges. A study will be proposed based on the pioneering critique, as it deals with the first epistemology, publications by the contemporaries of Guimarães Rosa: Antonio Candido, Marli Fantini, Afrânio Coutinho, Paulo Rónai, Walnice Galvão, Benedito Nunes, Roberto Schwartz, Willi Bole, among others. It assumes that the genesis of his poetics reverberates the classical poetics, with a mythical-poetic plot, (re)configured by the lyric, by an investigative and meticulous character of the ambassador, a public man, polyglot and reinventor of regional language. The lyrical material of the prose in Grande Sertão: Veredas transfigures from the reality experienced by Rosa when he returns to Minas Gerais, conformed by the poetic writing of the deviation - the metaphor -. However, the transfiguration of his experiences emerges not only from the cultural advent of the travels and people with whom the author lived in the hinterland of Minas Gerais but mainly from the holistic-hermeneutic vision tangent to the configuration of the sertanejo and Sertão-Mundo. The poetic genesis of his work reverberates universal themes, present both in the classics and in regional culture. The poetic advent in João G. Rosa will be considered as a result of profound observation of the lyrical subject of the world, especially the sertão, in a perspective of re(construction) of formal stylistics through mimesis as an object of the transfiguration of local culture (including the sertanejo speech and poetic-metaphorical deviation). From this base, the author engenders universal propositions, with the presence of fantastic-metamorphic beings and the eternal baroque discussion centred on the paradox of good and evil - God and the Devil -. Under the prism of Bakhtinian dialectics, in the palimpsest format of intergeneric writing, Rosa (re)configures her poetic writing: poetry, sometimes prose (tale-novel-novel, fable, myth, case), within the dramatic texture of the classic novel romanticism of Riobaldo and Diadorim, reverberating still the avant-garde allegory, whose tonic had come to the political movement of demands of Coronelismo in the Brazilian Northeast, with emphasis on Cangaço
