SUMMARY:

Optical satellite sensors with medium spatial resolution, such as the Landsat series, are important sources for the development of scientific data on the environment, agriculture, natural and urban resources, among other applications. With the launch of the Landsat 9 satellite in September 2021, the Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 satellites provide images of the Earth's surface every 8 days at a spatial resolution of 30 m. The present study aims to compare the quality and radiometric of images in the two Cerrado biomes by these satellites. More specifically, images acquired in different Cerrado corrections and different visible and visible, medium and thermal spectral bands will be studied to analyze the potential of the combined use of these data for environmental monitoring of the Cerrado. Emphasis image analysis for the normalized difference convert vegetation index (NDEVI) and selected images. Another designed analysis is a consistency check in the geometric registration of the scenes at the pixel level.
