SUMMARY:
Human rights education is born in the modernity/coloniality framework with the declarations of rights and, in Brazil, it is recognized by the Constitution, gaining public policy status in 2003. Despite the normative achievements, the literature review points out two challenges in its implementation: epistemological and methodological. The thesis aims to identify how the practice of the political-pedagogical project of the lato sensu Postgraduate Course in Human Rights Esperança Garcia deals with these challenges - what is taught as human rights and how it is taught. For this, a bibliographic research was carried out and a documental research and an empirical research will be carried out, using the writing methodology. The first, in the databases (scielo, capes journals and dissertations and theses bank, between 2015 and 2000). The second, in the Political-Pedagogical Project of the Course (menu, bibliographies) and in the evaluations. And the third, from the memories of the experience reflected and politicized by the author. The theoretical framework used is the categories of decoloniality and intersectionality (COLLINS, 2018), autonomy (FREIRE, 2006), self-recovery/lovingness (HOOKS, 2013). In chapter 1, we will discuss the concept of human rights - what is the understanding of human rights law and who are the humans of human rights from decoloniality and intersectionality. In chapter 2, we will analyze the ideas of education, identifying politics, dialogicity and love. In chapter 3, we will investigate conceptions of human rights and methodological practices based on the practice of Specialization in Human Rights Esperança Garcia.
