THE FORMS OF ORGANIZATION OF THE RONDAS CAMPESINAS IN PUNO (PERU) AND THE RONDAS COMUNITARIAS IN CHERÁN (MEXICO): PATHS TO THE DECOLONIZATION OF LAW IN LATIN AMERICA

The objective of this doctoral thesis is to compare the forms of political and epistemic organization of the rondas campesinas of Puno (Peru) and the rondas comunitarias of Cherán (Mexico). In doing so, the goal is to contribute to studies in academia in the interdisciplinary field, based on Latin American studies and studies of the decolonization of law that came from the contributions of social movements and Latin American constitutionalism. Chapter 1 deals with the theoretical approach in which the foundations of the Modernity/Coloniality Group will be presented, analyzing the notions of colonization, colonialism, and coloniality, the dialogues with the critical theory of Human Rights, the theoretical current of Law Found on the Street, and Decolonization and decoloniality in this current. This contributed to the development and proposal of Chapter 2, which deals with methodology, where the place of enunciation of the researcher is developed, the emerging and necessary methodologies in Latin America are presented, such as Participatory Action Research (PAR) and co-work. It then describes the method to be used along with the semi-structured interview model that will be applied after the fieldwork in Peru and Mexico. The text ends with the approximate schedule of activities to be carried out and the bibliographical references used so far.
