The research will be conducted based on the case of gender electoral quotas and campaign
financing, examined by the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court in Direct Actions of
Unconstitutionality (ADI) No. 5617 and 6338, using Ronald Dworkin's chain novel. We intend
to investigate whether Dworkin's concept of law as integrity is compatible with the feminist
epistemology and methodology presented by Katharine Bartlett. The overall objective is to
analyze gender electoral quotas within the theoretical framework of Ronald Dworkin,
specifically in relation to the constructivist interpretation, the chain novel, and the figure of the
judge Hercules, along with Katharine Bartlett's epistemological and methodological theory.
Specific objectives include presenting the issues raised by ADI 5617 and 6338, discussing the
history of women's political participation, electoral quotas, and the financing of female
candidacies, as well as reviewing Dworkin's theory under Katharine Bartlett's feminist
epistemology and methodology. This is a qualitative theoretical research with an exploratory
purpose using documentary research and bibliographic research techniques.
