SUMMARY:

The development of science and technology are at the heart of the causes of paradigmatic transformations in history, however, in the current scenario, the paradox between notable advances and the deepening of inequalities, resulting in large part from geopolitical struggles for power and markets, remains. In this context, we observe that artificial intelligence is a technological innovation with the potential to challenge the way we live, produce, and
disseminate knowledge. Several studies, such as Luckin et al (2016), Stone et al (2016), Goksel e Bozkurt (2018), Vicari (2018), Anissa (2019), MetaRed México (2020), MetaRed Brasil (2021), Littman et al (2021) describe technologies and technological trends based on artificial intelligence that will be incorporated into higher education. As artificial intelligence plays a key role in the future of higher education. Considering that higher education is a strategic sector for the economic and social development of the country (BRASIL, 2014), the purpose of this research is to understand the influence of AI in the teaching and learning process in undergraduate courses in Brazil today.
