he project presents the research theme, its objectives and points out the procedures methodologies that will be used throughout the process of applying the studies. Notably, the Thesis will have a qualitative character and will seek to highlight the importance of studying the historical trajectory of formation of the institutions of Nations outside the centers of power economic. Peripheral countries have their own references, impositions and choices. This deserves to be properly interpreted and analyzed. In the case of Brazil, its process of training is closely linked to the trajectory of Iberian countries (especially Portugal), based on the exploitation of resources: land and labor. Therefore, the objective of the thesis will be the to analyze the Brazilian economic and institutional development model established from the production and export of Coffee in the 20th century, this being a product considered symbol of one of the most important economic cycles in the country. Finally, will be presented the schedule of research activities and an initial proposal for the division of chapters that will integrate the future Thesis.
