This research project, aimed at qualification, aims to present the
contextualization of the theme, the object of study, as well as the proposed methodological guide
for the development of the doctoral thesis within the scope of the Postgraduate Program in
Development, Society and International Cooperation (PPGDSCI — CEAM/UnB). In this sense, we intend to study the case of Brazil which, despite experiencing moments
significant difficulties in advancing political, social and economic agendas,
capable of strengthening specific sectors of society, has a broad and specific
trajectory of State action with a view to Development. Therefore, studying the economic history of our country can help to understand complex phenomena of our current reality and how the sector, in particular, developed and is maintained institutionally, such as agriculture.
