CIA BURLESCA WALK - Territorializing the group's history
Cia Burlesca, Political Theater, territory, social struggle.
The trajectory of the theatrical performance of the Cia Burlesca group is the concrete subject of this research. The objective is to identify how the group's relations with the territories they occupy and/or transit through. The work starts from the historical rescue of the political theater that emerged in Brazil in the mid-1950s in dialogue with social struggles, until the first years of the military dictatorship, from 1964 to 1968. Considering that the directors of the group's shows carry experiences from the political theater movement in São Paulo in the late 1980s, this period is also remembered in the work. With the group acting period in the city of Brasília, from 2008 to 2022, the federal capital will be analyzed from its political, social, geographic and cultural tensions. In the second moment of the work, an analysis is made of the three theatrical works of the group that debate the issue of territorial in a female perspective: “Bendita Dica”(Blessed Dica), “O Longe”(The Far) and “A Legítima História Verdadeira”(the legitimate true story). In this way, it will be possible to identify the limits and potential of the works, as well as the contribution of the political aesthetic proposal in the formation of social subjects of Cia Burlesca and the territories in which they operate.
