High River Descoberto Basin in DF: Analysis of the Conservation of the Bucanhão and Capão da Onça Streams
Conservation. Springs. Rapid Assessment Protocol.
The conflect over wates use results from an imbalance between the demand for this resource and its availability in terms of quantity and quality. Without water security, there is no way to guarantee the universalization of the water supply service in a country. The importance and objective of this work in the region of the Alto Rio Descoberto Watershed are in the relations of quantity and quality of water from the springs that are in this region and serve as a source for the supply of water and water security in Braslândia-DF and the Federal District. This study is expected to evaluate the conservation of water resources and environmental characteristics of the Permanent Preservation Areas (APP's) associated with the Bucanhão and Capão da Onça streams, which together form the Descoberto River. For this, the methodology used will be qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative will occur through the evaluation and interpretation of the data obtained through the Quick Protocol of Visual Assessment of Environmental Impact (PRAVIA) for the characterization of areas in defined sampling stretches. The quantitative research will be through physical-chemical and microbiological analyzes of the water and to measure statistically, the Water Quality Index (WQI) will be used
