SUMMARY:

This thesis discusses the architectural production of Brasilia with emphasis on the last two decades of the 21st century. For the study, we chose residences, a typology that includes groups of young architects that stood out in periodicals and public contests from the 2000s onwards. Our hypothesis is that the production of residential architecture in Brasilia is part of a journey started with modern architects. We aim to discover if this production is related to the one done by the architects who worked in the early years of Brasilia. The residences of the two periods are problematized from a historical perspective, without rejecting their formal, functional and symbolic aspects that matter in the understanding of specific ways of living in two moments of the city, Brasília Bossa Nova and Contamporary Brasilia.
